How SJC was born
Before SJC was a full creative studio, it was just me—helping small business owners figure out their visuals, copy, and brand direction one DM at a time.
I didn’t know it then, but I was already doing brand strategy, web design, and voice-driven creative work that helped people feel legit online.
I’m Shani, a storyteller at heart and a dreamer by nature. My journey into design was unexpected, akin to being “blown in the right direction.” While working in a marketing role, I dove into graphic design courses head first—not just to enhance my work, but out of a genuine curiosity to learn more. What started as a practical step quickly became something so much bigger. It was like the pieces all fell into place, leading me to discover a passion I didn’t even know I had. I fell head over heels for branding and design, and it felt like the path I was always meant to take.
And before I knew it, I was juggling a full-time job and freelance projects—it was taking over my life! But it also sparked a dream—a creative space where I could pour myself into what I loved while still prioritizing being a mom and wife.
I’ve always been the kind of person who follows their heart and goes all in—and starting my own business was no exception.
When I decided to take the leap, I knew it wouldn’t be easy, but I also knew it would be worth it. I invested thousands of dollars in myself, poured countless hours into learning, growing, and perfecting my processes, leaned into mentorship, and stayed laser-focused on growth. I made bold moves to build something bigger, and now, I bring that same energy and commitment to my clients.The people I work with?

How will I communicate with you throughout the process?
We start with a kickoff call, and from there, most of our communication happens in your personal project portal. I’ll send you updates via Loom videos so you can watch (and rewatch) whenever suits you. For real-time feedback, we can also chat through the free Voxer app, and I’ll respond within working hours (Mon-Thurs, 10 AM – 4 PM).
What does the process from branding to website look like?
Here’s how we work together: Inquiry → Discovery Call → Custom Proposal & Contract → Pay Deposit → Onboarding (questionnaire + project portal) → Kickoff Call → Design & Strategy Phase → Approvals → Project Completion.
What should I expect when choosing SJC as my creative partner?
We work founder to founder. Throughout the process, you’ll be working directly with me, Shani, even when sub-contractors are involved. As a creative director, I personally oversee every step, ensuring that each phase aligns with your vision and goals. Expect a hands-on, collaborative experience where your vision is at the heart of every decision.
What will my investment look like?
Projects typically range from 4-figure to 5-figure investments, depending on scope and deliverables. Being a small studio allows us the flexibility to customize packages and offer high-level service at boutique studio pricing. A deposit secures your spot in the calendar, and we offer flexible payment plans. SJC also offers studio day rates and intensives for quick turnarounds.

Our discovery calls are kept super casual and are designed to see if we’ll be a good fit for the project. We delve into your business’s “what’s” and “why’s”—what has led you to invest in the future of your business and why you believe our studio would be the perfect partner to help you achieve your goals. We discuss the different offers, investment options, and give clear next steps and a walkthrough of our process.
